CFM BIRTHS CHIC

In a bid to expand our Nzuko Umuaka program in schools, the Centre for Memories has unveiled a new component of the program; The CFM HISTORY AND IGBO CLUB (CHIC).

The CFM History and Igbo Club is an offshoot of the Nzuko Umuaka program, developed to consolidate and sustain the efforts of the Centre in grooming responsible, assertive, and self-confident children/youths who will be well-grounded in their history and have sound values that can change our society for the better.

The first CHIC Club was inaugurated on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Queens Model Secondary School, Enugu State, Nigeria. Going forward, the club will be set up in every school where CFM hosts the Nzuko Umuaka outreach programme.

CHIC members would hold weekly meetings in their respective schools.

CHIC activities would include;

1.Reading and discussion of short profiles of illustrious Igbo personalities.

2.Folktales/Storytelling

3.Sharing of Poems

4.Sharing of tongue twisters, riddles and proverbs.

5. Cultural Music and Drama

6.Igbo Cultural Dance

We are excited about this new club as we hope to leave a lasting impact on every child we come across in the course of our work.
